I have played quite a bit through a Zinky Blue Velvet. I owned a 13 watt velveteen.
Both killer amps, I'd love to have another one.
The velveteen is the amp I wish I hadn't gotten away, but I traded it for my Magnatone 260 which is my favorite amp ever. So I guess all is good.

I recently picked up a Velveteen after searching for one for a long time. They don't show up very often...

It's a monster of an amp, and it definitely has some major mojo!

I've got an early BV 50 watt combo. It has been my go to amp for several years. Might have to take it from its road case to fit in my coffin when I die!!

I have a Zinky BV50 Head & matching cab that was my go-to amp for years but lately my tastes have changed and it mostly sits in its road case. I have never personally met anyone else who has one so it was always a topic of conversation with other guitarists. It's a great amp that always leaves an impression. Though I think I'm going to try to sell it if anyone is interested.

I ended up with one in a trade...turns out it's perfect, it's my back-up amp and wow is a great back up amp to have. I am, however, having great difficulty finding any info on this amp at all. The el84's were starting to make noise and finally bit it. What i'm trying to find out is

1. is this a cathode biased amp? Do I need to worry about biasing the amp or can I just drop in some new or NOS el84's ?

2. what is the bias range on this amp? I don't want to purchase a matched pair of el84's that are too hot for this amp.

I emailed the new Supro Facebook page but I didn't receive a response. If anyone knows the answers to these questions (or anything about this amp) please let me know. Also, if you know how to get in contact with Zinky himself please let me know. I really came up with nothing after tons of searching.

Thanks,

Erik
