So I got my G3X today and just ran through the unit manual in hand.
Liking the amps and touch/guitar volume control sensitivity so far.
Everything sounds great.
I'm somewhat puzzled with the tap tempo.
I cant seem to get any delays to go with the tap tempo button.
I was assuming I could set the tempo of the delays via this function and the manual states "Tap tempo...set the tempo used for rhythms, the looper and effects."
Can anyone fill me in?

Hey thanks!
Weird that none of the info you need is in the manual.
Any other hidden items?

Actually. .. I just got a G3x ... and im finding that the only thing the external footswitch can do for delays is either "input mute" or "hold"

I cannot control tap tempo with delays using an external footswitch.

Unless there's something im missing?

Tap tempo must be assigned to the switch.
Total button>page button of center window.
As mentioned above, delays have to be set to note value instead of ms under "time" knob.

I'm not sure what he means by cutting out.
As soon as you tap the button the delay will start to go with the new tap time.
So yes it cuts out I guess in a manner because it resets itself.
I don't notice any cutouts when playing live and I tap tempo for every song.
Not sure its a problem really...

Cool. Good to know. That's not a deal-breaker then. I spent some time on the weekend at my local brick and mortar and never got around to figuring out tap tempo. Man, some of the amp models sound great. I was immediately attracted to the VOX and the Marshall Bluesbreaker. Great low gain sounds!

I'm missing something... cause this is all I see.. "Input Mute" or "HOLD" for delay control via the footswitch.

Turn the button under "1" counter clockwise till it says "no assign".
Now start clockwise and it should go through the numbers and then "tap tempo" and finally "bypass mute".

Ok I got how to set it to TAP TEMPO.... but it still has no effect on delay time.

I think what Im missing is how to set the delay time by note value instead of milliseconds.

Could that be it?

Probably...the delay time knob must be turned clockwise until it has "note" setting instead of time.

Yep that was it. Gotta keep turning until note values appear...

Doesn't say that in the manual lol!

I'm just glad I figured it out.

I really love this thing.. not perfect.. but for $200 it's AMAZING!!!

I'm saving up for an Axe II, and selling off gear. But I picked up the G3X to replace my pedals, and I'm glad I did!!

The one flaw is switching between presets on the fly; makes gigging it a royal pain. But aside from that one big issue, I like the tones better than every modeler I've ever owned and played-- and that includes Boss GT's, Pods, HD's, 11 Rack, Digitech RP's, J-Station, everything.

I've just started to like some of the amp models. The Sound City and Hiwatt I really like the dynamics.
